In Michigan, residential builders and maintenance and alteration (M&A) contractors are required to renew their licenses every three years by May 31.
Part of the renewal process includes earning a specific number of approved continuing education (CE) credits. The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) maintains two different CE requirements for licensees.
During each renewal cycle, LARA mandates that all builders complete one hour of training (three in total) for each topic:
Licensees who must complete 21 hours may take electives to fulfill the remaining 18 hours. Our selection of individual courses counts toward the elective requirement.
