Course Description

This six-hour course fulfills all CSL continuing education renewal requirements.  The fully narrated course will satisfy the following required topics:

  • Code Review (1 HR),
  • Workplace Safety (1HR),
  • Business Practices/Workers’ Compensation (1 HR),
  • Energy (1 HR),
  • and Lead Safe Practices (2 HRs)

 

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the changes made to the 2009 International Conservation Codes and how those changes can ultimately reduce and conserve energy consumption.
  • Recognize the hazards inherent at a construction job site, and describe ways to prevent them.
  • Outline the regulations surrounding Massachusetts’ Workers’ Compensation and determine how best to both protect employees and manage costs.
  • Identify the hazards associated with lead paint disturbance, and the rules that surround the industry when renovating.
  • Explain some of the cost savings in both labor and materials associated with energy efficient systems.
