The Builders License Training Institute is an approved provider on the Career Education Consumer Report (CECR). Take this page to any Michigan Works office to see if you qualify for funding of your tuition, books and other fees associated with obtaining your Residential Builders or Maintenance and Alteration Contractors license. We hold the 60-hour prelicensure courses both online and throughout the State of Michigan. Within 60 days of taking our course, you can be licensed as a Michigan Residential Builder on a new career path to financial success. Our Lead Paint Renovator Course is also approved and qualifies for builders continuing education credit.

Qualification Requirements for Funding:
Any Michigan resident who is currently
unemployed or has received a notice of termination or layoff from employment.
- Whose family income is $40,000 or less.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must not have graduated from high school in the last two years.
- And, cannot be a full-time college student.
Eligibility is determined by Michigan WORKS! on a case-by-case
basis.
