He has spent over 30 years as a Building Trades Instructor and has a vast amount of experience in the building industry from both a building and consulting standpoint. Scott is a mechanical engineer with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Michigan Technological University in Houghton. His areas of concentration has been project management and design. He currently owns his own consulting firm called SC Consulting in Grand Haven. Rob is the owner of a R. Ellis Construction Company, a residential and commercial construction business located in Jonesville. Brenda is our Promotions and Web Site Specialist. She is the guru behind the web site and the postcards that you folks may receive in the mail. She also designs the newsletters, email alerts and tradeshow promotions when needed. Brenda just has a knack for making things look nice on paper and in the office.
Dave is co-owner of The Builders License Training Institute and a residential builder of high end luxury homes. He spends a great deal of time researching the exams, building codes and building practices to make sure all training materials are always as up to date as possible. Josh is working on an internship toward achieving his Bachelors in Business Degree and Bachelors in Marketing Degrees. He has also spent the past year assisting our Lead Paint Instructors and helping to make sure their classes flow and the instructors had the tools needed. Josh's internship will be spent working on feasibility studies for upcoming programs.
Teri is co-owner of The Builders License Training Institute. She has a Marketing and Business degree from Northwestern Michigan College and uses all of her skills and education in creating new courses and opportunities for builders and contractors.
Dawn is our 60-hour Prelicense Program Specialist. She is responsible for making sure all students and instructors have everything they need for the 60-Hour Residential Prelicense Program. Dawn is also one of the bubbly voices that answers the phones and works with students on fulfilling their curriculum.
Jenny is our Online Specialist and holds a Masters Degree in Education. She has extensive knowledge and experience with online Educational Courses, having spent several years in pharmaceutical sales. Jenny is instrumental in the design, modification and implementation of online courses and features.
Ellen is our Registration Office Receptionist. She spends her day registering students and making sure they have what they need for their classes, whether it be online or in the classroom. She is also one of the cheerful voices answering the multitude of telephone inquiries that come in every day.
Pete has been working in the building trades for over 20 years, specializing in high quality trim and carpentry. His extensive knowledge in the building trades makes a fine addition to our dynamic team of instructors. Judy has a strong background in banking and financial management. She is competent in several clerical software programs and loves talking to people. She keeps the entire Builders License Training Institute staff organized and on track.
Rodger is the owner of Rapid River Custom Homes out of Rapid City, Michigan. He has been working in the building trades for over twenty years. Prior to starting his own company, Rodger was a Superintendent for one of Northwest Michigan's largest home builders, supervising the construction of multiple homes at one time. Cheryl is a woman of many talents. She manages our Record Keeping, Accounting and EPA Reporting. She also assists us with a variety of assignments, both at home and in the office.
Mark has been a senior instructor of builders license training courses since 1998, teaching primarily in southeastern Michigan. Mark has a strong background in estimating and contract management, as well as a Bachelor of Science from Northern Michigan University.
