HOW TO DO I KNOW IF A COURSE OR PROGRAM
QUALIFIES AS CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR THE STATE OF GEORGIA?
Determining whether a specific program qualifies as acceptable
continuing education is the responsibility of the applicant and the
course provider. Here are some basic guidelines:
- The course must be a formal program of learning
- the course must contribute directly to the professional competence of
a contractor
- The following subject matters have been deemed acceptable:
building codes; functional fields of the business (i.e. finance,
marketing, personal relations, business management and organization);
Legal, legislative or regulatory updates; workplace safety; workers
compensation; or building techniques and technology.
Subjects other than those listed above must be submitted to the Residential Division for approval before they can be offered to the public as continuing education for Georgia.
